Details: RESPONSIBILITIES: Seeking a first rate aircraft structural engineer with experience in composite aircraft design and production manufacturing. The first task of this role will be to help update prototype design information developed by Scaled Composites and compile designs into a standardized format by reviewing prototype build notes and redlines. The second task will be to define manufacturing tolerances for individual parts and assemblies which will be used as acceptance criteria for suppliers and in-house production operations. A program specific plan will be developed and implement by the assigned individual. Details: Requirements Lead/Systems Engineer with extensive knowledge of history and configuration of the E-2D and E-2C aircraft, Secret Clearance required. Should be proficient in DOORs, Team Center, SAP, MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and NX (CATIA replacement system). Must be able to decompose requirements (DOORs database) into a Design Allocation for Vehicle Engineering and Subcontracts. Working with the E-2D drawing database, assist in the development and review of P-Sheets that need to be developed to convert the basic system requirements into a comprehensive drawing release package for all new aircraft upgrades (ECPs, ACDs, etc.). Should be familiar with the aircraft build process and must be able to interface directly with our manufacturing facility in St. Augustine, Florida. Cognizant engineer responsible for the Optical Alignment process and equipment for D-2D aircraft. As a voting member of the E-2D Safety-of-Flight Review board, must be able to review any incomplete build work packages and/or unincorporated design changes and make a determination if these open items are flight critical. Provide integration oversight and communication between various AHE IPT?s which include Air Vehicle, Product Build, Product Test, Product Support, Materials, Procurement and SEIT. Establish integrated design and fabrication criteria, plans and schedules, resolve cross-IPT issues, cognizance of overall E-2D vehicle configuration. Support design review efforts, change boards, PDRs and CDRs as required. Provide integration support of assembly line build.
