Research & Development Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Research & Development Design Engineer with experience in an industrial manufacturing environment for our Dublin, OH location! Relocation assistance is available. Position Summary: The purpose of this position is to provide advanced automotive component part design and development by 3D modeling and computer simulation. Duties & Responsibilities: Design of automotive component parts in CATIA v5 Make detailed design studies and calculation sheets. Understand customer requirements and specifications Work directly with customer to develop/modify part design Attend regular customer meetings and event support Perform strength, air flow, noise and vibration analysis by computer simulation Coordinate proto/trial part spec and delivery between supplier and customer Development and analysis using computer generated simulations For newer associates, gaining product knowledge Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills to identify complex problems & review related information to develop and evaluate options & implement solutions Time Management skills Active listening & strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with various levels of associates Judgment & Decision Making skills to allow consideration of positive and negative implications of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one Proven ability to: Promote and carry out the ?Keihin Philosophy" and ?5 Joys" Prepare reports for upper management & possibly other Keihin locations Evaluate system measures and performance indicators to determines necessary actions to improve or correct system/machine performance to meet plant goals and objectives See details at close range (within a few feet)
